Residence in Bratenahl, Ohio
This brick, stone and shingle home is one of four adjacent residences built on a bluff overlooking Lake Erie. Each, in their own way reflect the architectural heritage present in many of the structures of Bratenahl. By using complimentary materials, forms and detailing, they exchange an aesthetic dialogue while maintaining their unique individual character.

The granite gable on the motor court acts as the main organizing element on the front elevation, continuing through the building to reappear on the lake façade in shingle form. There, the gables large sweep is balanced by a large two storey tower creating a more informal, asymmetrical composition.
