Residence in Bratenahl, Ohio
This brick, stone and shingle home is one of four adjacent residences built on a bluff overlooking Lake Erie. Each, in their own way reflect the architectural heritage present in many of the structures of Bratenahl. By using complimentary materials, forms and detailing, they exchange an aesthetic dialogue while maintaining their unique individual character.

The central gable above the entry continues through the house and reappears on the symmetrical lake façade in a more grand sweeping scale. The large two storey bow balanced on either side with round sitting rooms tucked into the roof valleys, presents a graceful yet playful elevation to the water.
In this home, the motor court is enhanced with an Amdega greenhouse that houses the clients orchid collection. The extensive woodwork detailing of the interiors give the house a jewel box quality.
